Workshop Wrap-up

ATFM can be used at all times to ease the flow of air traffic, not just for emergencies or special flights. Every day, air traffic managers around the world apply ATFM to balance expected demand with system capacity.

You do not need a complex TMU structure to provide ATFM. Air traffic managers use a variety of available tools to assess constraints, estimate capacity, and collaborate with neighboring FIRs about planned restrictions. The key to successful ATFM, is timely communication and continuous CDM between with FIRs, TMAs, towers and stakeholders.

The goal of global ATFM is to bring member States, international organizations, and airspace users together to examine flow management procedures and address the challenges of traffic growth.

We hope this workshop encourages you to be part of ATFM’s success.
